Dear Families,

Happy New Year! The resting and recharging is over – hopefully we all have our energy in high gear! This week starts our new ARRIVAL time and entry swiping. It also starts our Community Dinners series.

I hope you will join us on the evening that your student’s Advisory is invited for an Adult Only Community Dinner (schedule HERE). We are offering childcare and pizza for your children, while parents and guardians eat together in the library in an effort to build relationships, make new friends, and grow our community!

This will not be an evening to talk school. This WILL be an evening to share stories, do the ‘Morton Mingle,’ laugh, relax, and find what connects us. I am so looking forward to spending this time with all of you!

Speaking of community, this Friday Jan. 11 at 6pm in the Cafeteria, will be our first Morton Movie Night - and we’re showing THE KARATE KID! Feel free to send your student(s) on their own - or bring the whole family. Bring blankets & pillows. We’ve have free popcorn and pizza. Please click HERE to let us know if you can chaperone and RSVP if you can - just so we can get a headcount for the pizza!

Also this week, we'll be sending out Curriculum Blasts with detailed info from our teachers. By now, all of you should have received an Advisory Update from your student's Advisor. It was great to have time to hear so many ideas, opinions, and suggestions at the JumpRope/Mastery Grading Workshop we held on December 21. I really appreciate the thoughtful questions and thinking you shared.
